PRE-TREATMENT

  • Hydrate.   You may ask – "Won’t the IV rehydrate me?"  Your body will be more responsive if you are hydrated prior to starting the IV because, at a cellular level, the minerals and vitamins infused via IV are dehydrating.  Also it is much harder to find the vein when you are dehydrated as you veins will be smaller and more difficult to locate. Your response to the IV and the ease of finding a vein will be improved by drinking a few glasses of water before your appointment.

  • Eat.   Some of the vitamins and minerals can cause nausea if infused on an empty stomach and eating a light meal or snack helps your body absorb the drip more effectively.

  • Relax and breathe.  Once you are seated in the recliner chair waiting for your IV to begin, take a few minutes to relax.  This will help release any nervous tension and prepare you for your treatment.

  • Bring along a book or music.  Bring those magazines you have not had time to read, the book you have been waiting to start or your favorite music along with ear buds to enjoy.  This time is yours so enjoy!

  • Wear comfortable clothes.   No need to dress up for your IV!  We recommend a short sleeve top or sleeves that can be rolled up above the elbow.  And wear those comfy pants and socks – especially if you have tendency to get cold.  We have comfy blankets for you to stay warm if needed.

Doctor Chontirot Srikasedsarakul is a specialist in Dermatology and Aesthetics. She graduated as a doctor of medicine from Chulalongkorn University in 2008.

 

Always seeking to expand her knowledge she has furthered her studies attaining a Diploma in Dermatology and Dermatosurgery from the Skin Institute of Thailand and receiving a Diplomate certification from the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine. Extending her understand of skin she completed a Certificate in Primary Skin Care, Cancer Medicine from the University of Queensland, Australia.

 

Although her primary focus has always been the skin she did not ignore complementary fields, for example, studying hair loss and hair transplant in a Fellowship in Hair Restoration program and most recently has been awarded a Genetics and Genomics Certificate from Stanford University.
